Zero Conditional Survey

Pre-Intermediate

In the zero conditional, we use the present simple in both parts of the sentence and it is used to speak about "general truths".

Example:

Q: What do you do if you get a headache?
A: I go to bed and drink warm milk.

Distribute these questions among the students to ask each other - have a feedback session afterwards to see what sort of answers was given.

What do you do if you get a headache? What do you do if you feel bored in your English class?
What do you do if you get toothache? What do you do if you get sunburnt?
What do you do if you can't sleep at night? What do you do if you feel sleepy during the day?
What do you do if you don't understand your English teacher? What do you do if you don't want to do your English homework?
What does your teacher do if you talk in class? What do your parents do if you are not in touch regularly?
What do you do if you oversleep? What do your friends do if you forget their birthdays?
What do you do if you have to prepare for a difficult exam? What do you do if you feel hungry at night?
What do you do if there is nothing on TV? What do you do if you cut yourself?
What do you do if you receive bad service in a restaurant? What do you do if something you buy breaks after a few days?
