Local Man Wins Lottery Jackpot!

David Chen, a popular baker from Newtown, is celebrating this week after he won one million pounds on the National Lottery. Mr. Chen, who owns 'The Newtown Bakery' on High Street, bought the winning ticket last Saturday from the local newsagent.

He discovered his good fortune on Sunday morning. "I was drinking my tea and checking the numbers on my phone," David, 48, told the Newtown Gazette. "I looked at the ticket and then I looked again. I couldn't believe it! I shouted to my wife, Maria, to come and check. We were both shaking with excitement."

When we asked about his plans, David said he wants to be careful with the money. He loves his job, so he does not plan to close his popular bakery.

"The bakery is my life," he explained. "But maybe I will work a few less hours each week!" His first plan is to buy a new house for his parents, who still live in the same small house he grew up in. After that, he wants to take Maria and their two children on a dream holiday to Australia.

He added, "It's a lot of money, but the most important thing is family. This win means we can help them and make some special memories together." For now, David plans to continue making his delicious bread and cakes for the people of Newtown.
