My Favourite Season

Anna: My favourite time of year? Oh, that's easy, it is summer! I just love everything about it. Firstly, the weather is usually wonderful. Most days are warm and sunny, perfect for being outside.

I live quite near the sea, maybe a twenty-minute walk, so in the summer holidays, I go to the beach almost every day with my friends. The sea can be a bit cold sometimes, even in summer here, but I love swimming, so I always go in! My friends sometimes just sit on the sand and relax. We play games like volleyball on the beach, listen to music, and of course, we eat lots of delicious ice cream. My favourite flavour is chocolate, but strawberry is nice too.

Another thing I love about summer is that the days are so long. It is light until maybe nine or even half past nine in the evening, so you have lots of time after college or work to do things, meet friends, have a barbecue, or just sit in the garden. It just feels like a really happy, relaxed time of year. Winter is okay, especially Christmas, but it's often cold, grey, and rainy. And the days are so short! No, summer is definitely great. Sunshine, holidays, beach, ice cream. It's very nice!
