History

esl-lounge has been online for a decade, providing millions of printable lessons for tens of thousands of English teachers worldwide. The Premium section was established in the fall of 2005 and has gone from strength to strength since then. There is also a student site available to help students with their English studies.

The site was created and is now run by Neil Coghlan, traveler, author and web designer.

Credentials

Neil has been an ESL teacher since 1993, teaching students from the ages of 5 up to 80. He brings the following qualifications to the table:

1993 - The Trinity College CertTESOL, commonly known as the Certificate in TEFL/TESOL
2001 - The Trinity College DipTESOL, commonly known as the Diploma in TEFL/TESOL

The materials have been prepared by teachers with at least ten years of experience: these have been produced by teachers for teachers and the requirements of teachers in the classroom has been the central focus at all times. This can be clearly seen in the Teacher Notes that accompany each and every lesson plan.
