Collocation WorksheetsCollocation is when two words occur together regularly. Students whose first language is not English find it difficult to understand why it is possible to have a "splitting headache" but that "heavy headache" or even "cutting headache" are not possible. A good knowledge of collocation will help students combine the words they already know and give richness to their language. By this stage in their English, students may well know thousands of words but will probably not be aware of how many of them can combine. These worksheets attempt to tackle the problem.
